Our Partnership with Lovett Care
Supporting residents to move with confidence and independence
At Rebalance Physiotherapy, we believe that moving into a care home should not mean giving up independence, mobility or the things that matter most.
We are proud to work in partnership with Lovett Care, supporting residents across their care homes in the North West of England.
By bringing specialist physiotherapy and rehabilitation directly into the care home environment, we can work closely with residents, families and care teams to make movement and rehabilitation part of everyday life.
Lovett Care shares our belief that every resident should be supported to live life in a way that is meaningful to them. Their focus on creating caring, supportive communities fits closely with our own approach, helping people maintain their mobility, confidence and physical potential wherever possible.
Working together to make a difference
Our physiotherapists work alongside Lovett Care teams to understand each resident as an individual. No two people are the same, and neither are their goals.
For one resident, physiotherapy may be about rebuilding strength and mobility following a hospital admission or period of illness. For another, it may be about improving balance, reducing the risk of falls, maintaining the ability to transfer safely or simply feeling more confident getting up and moving around.
We provide both one-to-one physiotherapy and physiotherapist-led exercise sessions within Lovett Care homes, helping residents stay active at a level that is appropriate, safe and enjoyable for them.
A really important part of the partnership is the close relationship between our physiotherapists and the care and wellbeing teams. We share our knowledge and recommendations so that, wherever possible, the work we do in a physiotherapy session can continue throughout the resident’s day.
This might be as simple as encouraging someone to walk to the dining room, practise standing during their normal routine or continue exercises with support from the care team.
More than just physiotherapy
For us, physiotherapy is never simply about strength, balance or walking distance.
A relatively small physical improvement can make a significant difference to somebody’s quality of life. Being able to stand more confidently might mean joining an activity again. Walking a little further might mean getting into the garden, visiting another part of the home or enjoying a meal in the dining room.
Sometimes the goal is to regain something that has been lost. At other times, it is about maintaining someone’s current abilities for as long as possible.
We have seen first-hand how much these achievements can mean to residents and their families. Following physiotherapy at Bramhall Manor, one family described the support their mum received as giving her “a pathway to independence.”
That is exactly what we hope to achieve, helping people make functional progress and supporting them to do more of the things that matter to them.
A partnership built around people
Good rehabilitation works best when everybody is working together.
Rebalance brings specialist physiotherapy and rehabilitation expertise, while Lovett Care teams bring an invaluable understanding of the residents they support every day. Families are also an important part of that relationship, particularly when setting goals and understanding what is most important to their loved one.
Together, we can identify goals, celebrate progress and adapt our approach as a resident’s needs change.
We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Lovett Care and of the work our physiotherapists are doing within their homes across the North West.
